Trump's push for embattled Kentucky governor falls quick

Beshear has declared victory and the race has been called by all main information outlets. or if voters saw it as a referendum of Donald Trump, with whom Bevin closely aligned. The former would be extra favorable for Democrats, and the latter for Republicans. But within the last four years, Republicans within the state, led by Bevin, who won handily by 9 factors in 2015, have picked political fights that many voters could carry with them to the polls.
That leaves Bevin looking for more people like June McWhorter. Trump had loomed massive in the race as Bevin stressed his alliance with the Republican president in TV adverts, tweets and speeches.
But whereas Trump gained Kentucky with more than 60% of the vote in 2016 and remains well-liked within the state, with Republicans in other races there doing well on Tuesday, Bevin – who polls as certainly one of America’s most unpopular governors – couldn't journey that reputation to victory. Bevinwas elected in 2015and had portrayed this election as a referendum on Trump, who stumped for the governor at a rally in Kentucky on Monday evening and called Beshear “too liberal, too extreme and too dangerous”. Meanwhile Beshear declared himself the winner in Kentucky after securing 49.2% of the vote to Bevin’s 48.8%, telling voters that his efficiency was a message that elections were nonetheless about “proper versus wrong” instead of proper versus left.
